Roatan has one airport: Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB) in Coxen Hole, and it punches above its size. Direct flights connect the island with several US cities, with additional international service arriving seasonally, and domestic connections run through San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa for travelers coming from the mainland or connecting from elsewhere in Central America.
The facility is small but modern, which works in your favor: immigration and baggage are usually quick compared with hub airports, and you can be out the door within a half hour of landing on a normal day. The taxi ride to French Harbour is about 15 minutes, and West End or West Bay roughly 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic, so even a mid-afternoon arrival leaves time for a sunset on the beach.
Practical notes: arrive early for departures during high season, roughly mid-December through April, when multiple US-bound flights stack up in the same midday window and the departure hall fills fast. There is a departure area with food and shopping past security, but options are limited, so eat before you head in. Rental car counters and pre-arranged shuttle pickups operate right outside arrivals.
