Roatan has two golf courses, and they cover both ends of the golfing spectrum. The Black Pearl at Pristine Bay is the island’s marquee course: a Pete Dye-designed 18-hole layout carved along the hills and coastline, with ocean views on multiple holes and the resort facilities of Pristine Bay behind it. It is the course that put Roatan on the Caribbean golf map, and visiting golfers should book tee times ahead in high season.
West Bay Golf Club and Villas offers the casual alternative: a 9-hole course on the west end of the island, close to West Bay Beach, suited to a relaxed round without committing a full day. For cruise visitors or families where only one person golfs, its location near the island’s main beach strip makes it the practical pick.
Golf in Roatan comes with tropical caveats worth knowing: mornings beat afternoons for heat, brief rain passes through quickly most of the year, and the trade winds that keep you comfortable will also move your ball. Club rentals are available, so there is no need to fly with a bag for a single round.
A third course is planned for the East End of the island, which would expand the scene further; this page will track it as the project develops. Each course below links to a full listing with location, contact details, and booking information.
