SOL International Foundation funds school tuition, uniforms, supplies, transportation and tutoring for more than 60 Roatan students aged 5 to 22. It also runs the Havey Learning Center, which has a psychotherapist and a full-time tutor, and supports youth baseball, volleyball, soccer, track and field and basketball. A breakfast and lunch program serves meals five days a week, and a Wednesday Junior Chef class teaches cooking basics. Founded by David Elmore and Brandon Raab, the US 501(c)(3) nonprofit has worked on Roatan for more than 15 years.
