Good Friday is the Friday of Holy Week (Semana Santa), when Christians mark the crucifixion of Jesus. Its date moves with Easter, and it is a paid national holiday in Honduras under Article 339 of the Labor Code.
Bank branches were closed on Good Friday in 2026, part of a Thursday to Sunday closure announced by the banking association AHIBA; ATMs and online banking kept working. Employers who keep staff working on the holiday must pay them double under Article 340, so restaurant, shop and tour hours vary over Holy Week. Check with the business before you go.
