Caribbean Reef Life is the name divers know Mickey Charteris by: an underwater photographer and the author of the field guide that identifies more than 1,800 Caribbean reef species. Through Caribbean Reef Photography, he is the resident photo pro at the Photo-Video Center at Coco View Resort, where he has taught since 2021. Courses include a tune-up session, half-day and full-day lessons, a Photo Naturalist course and Total Immersion. The center also rents cameras, strobes and wide-angle lenses and takes on custom photo and video shoots. Visitors who are not staying at Coco View book by appointment. The map pin marks CoCoView Landing, where the resort boat leaves; the last leg to the resort is a short boat ride.
The field guide is sold on Amazon (affiliate link) and as an e-book at caribbeanreeflife.com, and is carried by dive shops and resorts around the island.
